If you're seeking medical help, but are in some legal trouble, there's a sneaky doctor in town that will fix you up and keep his mouth shut... for a price. This doctor's information is hidden from the public, so you may want to make some friends in the criminal underworld to find him.
If you are injured with a notification like [Your left leg hurts] or [You are bleeding], any active medical staff can treat you. Similarly if you are downed, medical staff are able to bring you back up.
Interacting with the check in desk at St. Fiacre Hospital and selecting [Check In] will allow a local doctor to patch you up, restoring your health, hunger, and thirst, and placing you an ICU bed. This should only be done if there are no hospital staff present, or if hospital staff are too busy to attend to you.
Doctors are the only people in the city certified to give prescription drugs. If you're found with prescription drugs and don't have a prescription, you'll be charged with felony posession.
If you have a medical condition that requires you to wear a mask, meet with a doctor for a checkup to confirm a legal exemption and note it. Wearing a mask without legal exemption is considered an infraction, and continuing to do so after being warned is considered a misdemeanor.
Medical staff can use /ambulance to post city-wide announcements.
When you are downed, you can press [G] to call for help. This will send an emergency alert to Police and Medical services. Again: LOCAL TRANSPORT has sticky fingers. Be aware of this risk.
When medical staff is called to a scene, the players involved are able to interact in multiple ways. It is more or less up to the players.
Medical staff has tools, equipment in their inventory to address injuries. They are able to examine you and address these, but interaction is preferred.
/me commands may be frequent and interact with the verbal roleplay. These show medic actions and inquiries as well as non-verbal descriptions. Describe what the the doctor is finding.
Medical is capable of picking you up if an accident occurs or more minor injuries, but if the scenario warrants it, medical will transport you to the hospital and hand you to the local doctor or treat you themselves in facility.
If requested or preferred, the usual /me commands can move forward, but some players like the opportunity to roll for severity. This is a random chance option to see if your medical care can happen in the field or if you will be required to be transported for further care.
Command is [/roll 20] and the lower the number, the more severe. A simple fall from a ladder can sometimes become a graphic broken bone scene. You never know!!
