| If you witness someone breaking the rules and don't report it, you could be subject to a ban. | Not reporting could cause more issues for other players. All moderation matters are handled with care |
| Assume positive intent | Reach out to others and talk to them before jumping to any conclusions. You may interpret something as bleed when it may just be their character being angry. |
| Derogatory remarks directed at others regarding race, gender, religion, disabilities, or sexual preference will not be tolerated. | This is self-explanatory. Just don't be a jerk. |
| Roleplaying sexual assault is not allowed and will result in an immediate ban. This also applies verbally. | There is no need for it and it makes everyone uncomfortable. Just don't. |
| Toxicity / Harassment | Be respectful! The Boardwalk RP has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for any form of toxicity, harassment, bullying, or oppressive behavior towards players and staff. |
| You must have a good working microphone with top-quality sound. | Please also wear headphones when playing to reduce audio feedback and keep your settings to "push to talk. |
| Follow FearRP / NVL, fearing for your life. | Your character should fear the risk of death or injury. For example, if someone has a gun pointed at you, don't be a "hero". |
| You control your Perma-death (unless placed on death row). | If you Perma a character, that means you are to delete this character. Death row is very rare and appointed by a judge. |
| Do not speak OOC (out-of-character). | This kills immersion for other players who are in character. Always stay in character. You will never need to go OOC in the server. |
| Do not wear uniforms of factions/jobs you are not directly involved with. | This is to prevent confusion and will be classed as power gaming. |
| No RDM or VDM ever! | Random Death Match or Vehicle Death Match: all attacks on other players should have some spoken RP involved. |
| Meta-gaming is not allowed. Meta-gaming: the act of using out-of-character/external information for in-game situations. | This includes watching streams for information such as a character's location. NOTE: job counters (top left of your screen) count as meta knowledge, not IC knowledge! You can use this information to help guide your RP, however it should not be something that your character knows. |
| Power-gaming is not allowed. Power-gaming: using mechanics or roleplaying mechanics that do not exist. | This includes purposefully quitting the game mid RP session, exploiting a bug/mechanic, or AFK farming. |
| When playing on the server, please keep in mind that music can affect streamers. Keep this in mind if playing music. | If your business plays music, please make sure there are clear warnings to others. |
| Under no circumstances should you bring drama from other servers into The Boardwalk RP. | If you have issues with other players from the past, leave it at the door. We judge people on their actions within this community. |
| Locals NEVER die; it is to be roleplayed that they are only ever injured and put in the hospital. | This is to prevent cops from using a local's death as a murder/attempted murder charge, which can result in a death-row outcome. |
| Police stations and hospitals are GreenZones. | GreenZones are non-combat zones, essentially neutral territory for all. |
| Persistent Chaos Roleplay is not welcome. | We do not accept persistent "chaos roleplay," constant cop baiting, or flagrant dismissal of roleplay etiquette. |
| StormTrooper Aim. | Our cops are trained to do stormtrooper aim during a gunfight, to prolong the roleplay and create a better scene, please keep this in mind as a criminal. |
| Masks are not faces. | To save on drama that this can cause, masks (cat masks, etc.) will not be considered faces. (this does not include facial hair) |
| Downed = Out | If you are downed during any sort of combat, be it gang vs. gang, crim vs. PD, etc. you are not to re-engage in that scene after being revived. |
| Real/Known Characters | When you make your character make them unique, please avoid real world people or TV/Movie characters, parody characters are okay! Those who have already made these types of characters have been grandfarthered in. (13th August 2024) |
This is used whenever somebody feels uncomfortable with any RP going on at that time, the roleplay stops and admins are to be informed immediately. We do not tolerate players purposefully trying to make others uncomfortable with extreme conversation topic or acts.
On that note, the safe word should only be used in these cases, if admins find you are using this word not for its intended purpose you will be removed from the community.
